Product Overview

  Oven drying is a classic batch-type convection drying equipment, widely used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, and other industries for the drying, sterilization, and heat treatment of granular, lump, strip, and sheet materials. The main body of the equipment consists of a well-insulated chamber, a heating system, a circulation fan, a moisture exhaust device, and a precision control system. Depending on the heating medium, the oven can be configured in various forms such as steam heating, electric heating, thermal oil heating, or combined electric and steam heating, with an operating temperature range covering a wide span from 50°C to 350°C. Its internal structure is designed with full consideration of cleaning and hygiene requirements. The inner walls of the chamber are fully welded, and all transitions are rounded with no dead corners. The entire machine has good sealing performance and is equipped with a unique guide rail sealing device, effectively meeting the strict requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for equipment cleanliness and airtightness.

Working Principle

  The working principle of oven drying is based primarily on hot air convection and conduction heat transfer, forcibly promoting the vaporization of moisture in the material to achieve drying. During operation, external fresh air is purified through a high-efficiency air filter installed at the air inlet and then enters the chamber. The air is heated to the set temperature by components such as electric heating tubes, steam heat exchangers, or thermal oil heat exchangers. At the same time, the circulation fan operates continuously, driving the hot air to circulate evenly along the air deflectors within the enclosed chamber, causing the hot air to pass through the material layer placed on the trays for sufficient heat exchange. During this process, the material absorbs heat, causing the moisture or organic solvent it contains to evaporate into water vapor. The hot and humid air is discharged through the moisture exhaust outlet after being treated by a medium-efficiency air filter, thereby continuously removing moisture from the material until the target moisture content is reached. The temperature of the equipment is automatically controlled and recorded throughout the process by a recorder, ensuring the stability and traceability of the drying process.


Features

  Oven drying offers several outstanding performance features. First, it has an extremely wide temperature adaptation range. Users can flexibly choose different heating methods according to process requirements, such as steam (50–140°C), electric heating (50–350°C), or thermal oil (150–250°C), meeting various processing requirements from low-temperature drying to high-temperature sterilization. Second, it provides precise control and complete recording. The equipment adopts an automatic temperature control system and is equipped with a recorder, enabling real-time monitoring and data retention throughout the entire drying process. Third, it is easy to clean and maintain. The inner walls of the chamber are fully welded with a dead-corner-free design, and all components can be quickly disassembled and reassembled, greatly facilitating cleaning operations between batches; the double-door model is also equipped with a mechanical interlock device to ensure operational safety. In addition, the air inlet and moisture exhaust outlet are equipped with high-efficiency and medium-efficiency air filters respectively, effectively preventing external dust from entering and avoiding exhaust gas pollution to the environment. The control system offers a choice of text display or touch screen, enhancing the intelligence and user-friendliness of operation.


Applications

  Oven drying holds an irreplaceable position in high-standard production fields that require compliance with GMP regulations. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is widely used for the drying and sterilization of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), traditional Chinese medicine extracts, pharmaceutical intermediates, pharmaceutical excipients, and finished tablets. In the fine chemical industry, it is suitable for drying various catalysts, dyes, additives, and chemical reagents. In the food industry, it is commonly used for low- or high-temperature drying of food additives, seasonings, fruit and vegetable powders, and health products. At the same time, it is also often selected for the aging treatment of electronic components in the electronics industry and the dehumidification of plastic products in the light industry. Because the oven offers a wide selectable temperature range (50–350°C), flexible operation, and moderate batch sizes, it is particularly suitable for small-batch, multi-variety refined production scenarios. It is a commonly used drying equipment in laboratory R&D, pilot-scale scale-up, and industrial-scale production.
